Days 1/2 - Arusha/Taveta/Tsavo West National Park
Drive back to Arusha and bid farewell to the rest of the group returning home today. Continue your adventure as you cross the border at Taveta into Kenya and onward to Tsavo West, the largest national park in Kenya. Its rolling volcanic landscape is carpeted in long grass dominated by giant baobab trees and dense brush.  A star attraction is Mzima Springs, a pool of natural spring water that has underwater viewing hides for observing hippos and crocodiles in their world. On wildlife drives, you may have close encounters with leopard, cheetah, zebra, giraffe, kongoni, waterbuck, buffalo and elephant whose skin has been dyed red by Tsavo’s earth.  Lion are plentiful and some may be the descendants of the infamous and feared ‘Man-eaters of Tsavo’ popularized in the film Ghost in the Darkness.  Visit a nearby local village and school.  Your lodge’s views are made even more magnificent by the snowy dome of Mt. Days 3/4 - Amboseli National Park/Mount Kilimanjaro
Your journey continues to Amboseli National Park located at the foot of Africa’s highest mountain, Mt. Kilimanjaro.  Although only 150 square miles, this small and fragile ecosystem supports a wide range of mammals and birds.  Years ago, this was a favorite locale of such famous writers as Ernest Hemingway and Robert Ruark, and recently has been made famous by noted American naturalist and author, Cynthia Moss.  She has one of the longest-running studies on elephants and has immortalized them in her many books and award-winning film Echo of the Elephants. Your lodge features spectacular views of Mt. Kilimanjaro or the Amboseli plains with its herds of elephant feeding on acacia trees. AMBOSELI SERENA SAFARI LODGE. (B,L,D Daily)

Days 5/6 - Nairobi/London/New York
Return to Nairobi, where a day room awaits you at the NAIROBI SAFARI PARK HOTEL. Later, transfer to the airport and bid the sights and sounds of Africa farewell as you board your flight home. (B, Meals Aloft)
