Baringo Island Camp

 

Situated on an enchanted, remote island in Lake Baringo in the Great Rift Valley, Island Camp provides a perfect setting in which to relax and recuperate in between visits to wildlife areas. The views of the surrounding Rift Valley are at their most spectacular from the pool at the pinnacle of the camp. Each comfortable en-suite tent is tucked away beneath the shade of spreading acacias, and separated by lush lawns and natural rockeries. Over four hundred bird species make it an ornithologist’s haven and in addition to boat trips to view the birdlife and hippos and crocodiles, the lake is excellent for water skiing, swimming and windsurfing. A day trip to Lake Bogoria, with its multitude of flamingos, hot springs and the rare greater kudu is a unique experience.
