Hualilahua Lunch Rodeo
The Hacienda Hualilahua dates back to 1718. Built on a mountainside overlooking the Machachi Valley, the hacienda is still owned and operated by the descendants of the founding family. During your visit, you will learn about local traditions, stroll through the gardens and enjoy the warm hospitality of the owners. A highlight of your hacienda experience is your chance to witness a rodeo. Taking their steeds into a full gallop, the Chagras, or men on horses, will thrill you with a demonstration of their impressive abilities in using a lasso and rounding up cattle. In contrast, you will also have time to experience the tranquility of the manor house. Noted for its extensive collection of paintings, furniture and sculptures representative of the Quito School of Art of the 16th and 17th centuries, the Hualilahua's manor house offers a peaceful retreat from the day's activities. Repair to the manor's welcoming dining room and savor a delicious lunch made with organic vegetables and cereals from the hacienda.
